![]() But the start IS really bad and unfortunately the second one is kind of the same (i've only played 2h on the second). I played through all the factions, and it was amazing seeing the small lore associated with each one, i.e. They really dropped the ball there since you didn't get that intricate faction system like in Fallout: 2. New Reno was better than the New Vegas Strip, though. Also, saying "*Little* Jesus" fucking had me laughing my ass off seeing that dialogue. I know the faggot NMA trash fucks hated New Reno, but that was my favorite part. ![]() Even though I have several hours of New Vegas, I think I played Fallout: 2 the most. Personally, Fallout: 2>=Fallout: New Vegas>Fallout: 1. As I said, one of the only games on the Bethesda engine I can play with very minimal mods. The experimental DLC, Dead Money, just weaved everything so damn well without looking out-of-place. Everything about the setting was just on-point. Obsidian's world-building was just so damn good. Not only that, but it's very, razor close to being better than the originals. Where is the debate? Of course, it's a worthy Fallout game. I think the best example of applied quality control in video games is probably Nintendo. Also partly due to the decline in merit-based culture, instead prioritizing equality - which actually means that companies see everyone as equally replaceable cogs in a machine. Part of this, I suspect, is because nobody wants to be 'mean' and tell people their output is shit and it needs to improve or be fired. It stopped being a thing because the developers capable of putting out games their fans enjoyed on a consistent schedule of a generally consistent quality quit, and they were replaced by people who weren't as good at their jobs. Similarly, 'Bioware Magic' really was a thing despite game journos claiming otherwise. ![]() There is nobody at Obsidian ensuring the writing quality is equivalent to what Fenstermaker, Avellone, and so forth were writing when with Obsidian which is how you get games like Outer Worlds with some of the worst writing I've seen in years. Quality control is how brands gain and retain brand name recognition even if the people responsible for what made their products popular leave the company. The assembled homemade helmet has the following characteristics: +2 to SU, +1 to CB and +2% to SC.Ī crafted cigarette gives the following effects: -1 health point, 30% chance of getting a debuff (-1 stamina) for 6 hours, gives a buff for 10 minutes to craft.Ĭorned beef has the following effects: +3-7 health points, and removes hunger by 600.Consistent quality requires consistent quality control, something the video game industry completely lacks.
